MXT-Maintenance Technician

Duties and Responsibilities

Understand and adhere to all company safety procedures and participate in regular periodic Environmental, Health, and Safety training.

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on high speed filling lines (fillers, cappers, packers, bottle printers, case printers, case erectors etc.) conveyor systems, palletizing and depalletizing equipment ; following diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.

Troubleshooting sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using measuring and testing instruments.

Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hand and power tools; examining parts.

Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.

Controls downtime by informing production supervisors of routine preventive maintenance techniques.

Fabricate and repair parts by using machine equipment.

Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.

 

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required

3-5 years of experience preferred

Possesses a strong problem solving and troubleshooting ability

Knowledge of PLC and programming is a plus

Accountable to the highest standard in every situation

Possesses a commitment to cultivate positive relationships and develop team collaboration

Physical requirements

Able to climb ladders and stairs and lift up to 100lbs

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; hear and speak; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include correctable vision to complete work in a safe manner.
