Peoria County FFA Visits Marquis Energy

Marquis Energy hosted a tour group of area FFA students on Thursday, November 3, 2016. The tour was arranged and sponsored by the Peoria County Farm Bureau. Ten students each from five Peoria County FFA chapters were involved from Brimfield, Dunlap, Elmwood, Farmington and Princeville. The students were shown an educational presentation about the ethanol production process and the ethanol industry in general, as well as specifics of the Marquis Energy ethanol plant. They were then taken on a walking tour of the facility by plant operations employees to see first hand what it takes to produce ethanol. The tour culminated with a visit to the Marquis river terminals to watch barges being loaded with ethanol and DDGS for transport to New Orleans for export around the world. Jeff Peterson of Marquis Grain reiterated how much we enjoy hosting high school and college students that are interested in the agriculture industry. “These students are the future of our industry and it is a real joy interacting with inquisitive young people.”
